Structural Performance of One-Way Slabs Reinforced with Steel and Polypropylene Fibers

The present study aims to investigate the effects of steel fibers (SF) and polypropylene (PPF) on structural response one-way simply supported reinforced concrete (RC) slabs at ultimate limit state (ULS). Next, an optimized combination hybrid is proposed. experimental program includes 21 experiments with different SF PPF ratios. load-deflection curves were obtained for using a four-point bending method. capacity mid-span deflection measured. results did not produce consistent trend loading. blends produced failure modes, cracking load, load. Based test results, slab specimen, SM6, 0.7% 0.9% ratios has maximum SM16, minimum load-carrying capacity, respectively. first shows 31% increase second indicates reduction when compared reference SM1, which no used in its mixture. It worth mention that largest also highest ductility (172% enlargement slab, SM1).
